Video component of Silk Poems by Jen Bervin.

A poem written nanoscale in the form of a silk biosensor, the Silk Poems takes this ancient textile material silk as subject and form, exploring the cultural, scientific, and linguistic complexities of silk imagined inside the body. The project has three components:

  • a nanoimprinted poem on silk film (fabricated at Tufts University’s Silk Lab) through a microscope

  • a reading version of the poem

  • a video on the Silk Poems research by Charlotte Lagarde.
